Joe Fresh, Spring 2010

Even though I am currently dealing with a late February snow storm I cant help thinking about Spring, and more importantly, what I'll be wearing. One of my favourite Canadian designers is Joseph Mimran of 'Joe Fresh'. I'm guilty of picking up a new piece every time I'm at the grocery store, and why not with those unbelievable prices. Here is a sampling of his Spring 2010 collection just to get us in a Spring mood.

At my house the Winter Olympics have ruled our T.V for the last two weeks but they have been ruling our closet for months. In November when I first saw HBC's Olympic collection I could see it was some thing special and proceeded to add almost every item to my Christmas list. I wasn't the only one. Sport icons, celebrities and almost every one who could get their hands on it have been rocking the Olympic gear.

Toronto LG Fashion Week

It's a very exciting day, the organizers of LG Fashion Week have released the Fall Schedule and the new location. This year Fashion week will be held inside at Liberty Village. This is a change because for the last number of years the collections have been shown in tents, similar to that of Bryant Park in New York. The Schedule includes the heavy weights of Canadian fashion, such as Andy The-Anh, Pink Tartan and Joe Fresh, but there will also be some fresh faces showing.

New York fashion week is in full swing and in the next couple of days we will get to see what the stars of American fashion have up their sleeves. One of my favourites is Proenza Schouler who are showing on the 17th. Happily I can report that the design duo will be showing their Fall collection live on the Internet. New York Fashion Week

It's New York fashion week and the stars are out. I always love following New York fashion week because there are so many young designers showing and of course some classics. Who are you looking forward to seeing? I will be posting the best of the collections in the days to come so stay tuned.

Remembering Alexander McQueen

Today is a sad day, one of the worlds greatest designers and a personal favourite, Alexander McQueen has past away. McQueen was only 40 years old. Instead of trying to write about his greatness I think showing his work is the best way to remember him. Please enjoy his genius.

Designer Collaboration (High Fashion at your Mall)

There isn't anything more exciting for a fashion lover, especially one on a budget, then a designer collaboration with H&M. The latest collaboration is with designer Sonia Rykiel. This is Rykiel's second collaboration with H&M, last year the label designed a line of lingerie for the international power house. The new line is called the "Queen of Knits" and it will be available at select stores on Feb 20th. Last week H&M threw a launch party to celebrate the collaboration.
